I heard a story the other day of a guy that works for a neighboring dept ( I know the guy so I beleieve the story). Apparently he shot a buck and went to go check it out. When he got down to grab it, it popped up and gave him an antler to the face, leaving a nice gash. I am not sure how the fight ended, knife or bullet. But the deer lost.
Just goes to show, you need to make sure they are dead before getting too close.
