the guys at the range where i sited my rifle said i should have it magna ported for preformance and recoil control where do i need take it iim in the downriver
detroit area and i would prefer a good reputable gunsmith so traveling isnt a big deal but time at the momment is im leaving for a long range hunt in little
less than 3 weeks can someone help me out

This might be to far for you to travel but these guys have been around forever and they do great work, they magna ported my friends 7mm last year and he was
really happy with the results, and they shipped his gun back to him he lives up in lewiston, near gaylord. the elk he got with that gun last year was

Is the recoil that much? Before I would have my barrel hacked up I would go get a limbsaver recoil pad. I have one on a 7mm Mag, the recoil is very mild even
with hot handloads. If you dont know anything about Magna porting it will make the sonic boom of the rifle horrible....enough to the point were I would put
plugs in (if I had times) before I shot a deer. Thats just me though.

hey doug, i have never fired a 7mm but my friend who had his done was scheduled for neck surgery, he fired his 7mm once and then decided to have it ported, he
was happy with the results and he rescheduled his surgery untill after his elk hunt, then he had 4 months off to enjoy his elk and recuop.
