Sorry if some of you knew this already but I figured a few did not. I certainly did not. So here goes! I went to Macomb County Sheriffs Department today to pick up a purchase permit. It has been about three years. You now only have 10 days to make your purchase. If you do not make a purchase you still have to return the permit by the end of the 10 day period. If you do not return the permit in 10 days you will be subject to a state civil infraction costing up to $250. You also no longer have to take the pistol in for a cursory inspection. If you purchase from a private seller you and the seller only need to fill out your sections of the permit and just return the permit to the sheriffs department and you are done. How easy is that.
