DK I have always been interested in trapping also. You are right, you have to have someone show you the ropes. It would be pretty tough to figure it out and be
successful. If you read at all check this book out. It's about a guy making his living hunting and trapping in the late 1800's and early 1900's. I
couldn't put it down. It is called Fifty Years a Hunter and Trapper by E.N. Woodcock. There are some awesome stories in it.

I have read about that book in Fur Fish and Game. I also read a few article about E.N. Woodcock in the same magazine. Maybe I will try to find a copy of it
online.

Tom Miranda has a very helpful and knowledgeable DVD out on Trapping. This was done in the 80's & 90's when he was really into trapping, before he
got going in Tom Miranda Outdoors and other TV programs. It is worth getting as well.

Thanks for the offer, I might take you up on that.
I think I could probably figure out land trapping, but have no clue on waterlines. What I really need is someone to show me how to skin and flesh a hide. I am pretty good at skinning but need help with fleshing, seems I can get a coon hide looking real good except for between the shoulders and the head.

Sure am...I made a beam out of a 2x6 and bought a knife at Gander Mountain. Made a coon board yesterday also. I broke it in on a road killed coon that just got
his head buzzed. Ill get some pics.
