Saw 8 this morning and 4 tonight. The 4 tonight came by at about 18 yards, all were dry does there wasnt a little one with them. I almost drew on the biggest
she had a very gray coat, I bet she went #180 easy. She actually came in through at about 7 yards. While I was brainstorming to shoot or not the neighbor
drove by about 400 yards away on his gator and made my mind up for me...all the does got spooky and didnt stick around much longer.
The 8 this morning were heading from the soy beans across the road to the woods, about 3 minutes before I saw the first doe enter the field I hear a single deer making its way in the woods past my stand, I am assuming that was the buck taking a different line than his does. I also went for a grouse walk out on some state land about 8 miles from the house, I saw 6 deer out there including a very nice buck that I jumped while walking through some thick scrub. Second nature, the shotgun came up when he jumped up, than I remembered what season it was.

Friday Night I saw 3 bucks...2-6 pointer's and a 5-point. One of the 6 pointer's was a 2 1/2 year old and were within shooting range. Holding out for
something big now and If I don't score I am going to take some Doe's anyway so I will have plenty of meat. That 8-pointer I got a week or so ago is
pretty tasty
Saturday morning I saw some button bucks and does and Sat night saw a little 6-point. Sunday morning I saw a good buck about 80 yds away along the edge of a clearcut next to the mature timber. He was as wide as his ears and fairly tall....I would guess a 6 or 8-pointer. Good Body on him as well. |

I saw 6 tonight, I was fixin to draw on an XL doe right at dark and couldnt see my pin good enough to make the shot so I shut it down and didnt risk, she was in at 11 yards. Still havent had a buck come into range.

I got a nice big doe this morning. Double lung and she still made it about 150 yards, nice and easy blood trail to follow. We only shoot mature doe or 8 and
bigger. We have 5 shooter bucks running around, but no one has gotten a shot one one yet. I like to get some meat and then can relax and wait for a buck.

I shot a Heavy horned 7-pointer. Very Good Mass and the body and neck is Huge. Definitely a 3 1/2 year old buck. I just tried to connect USB cable to my PC
from my camera and it is not loading for some reason. Will mess with it tomorrow but will have the picture's up soon.
*I made a terrible shot. The buck was quartering away and I shot right through the center of the gut and it came out perfectly out the other lung. I should of hit it 6 inches closer to the shoulder. Not to make an excuse but there was some small branches near his body and I saw them move and it deflected slightly True story but I still made a terrible shot. Anyways he took off and
I waited til dark and left thinking I will have trouble finding this one and felt sick. I left him alone and went out in the morning and jumped him 200 yds
from my stand and he wasn't running well. I got out of there and went back the next day and found him 100 yds from the spot I jumped him. I know he died
right after I jumped him and it aggravated the wound and his lung. When you see the picture you will see the exit hole came dead center out of his lung and I
am amazed he made it through the night on 1 lung. I am bummed I cannot get pic's up right now. Will check out another PC tomorrow and see if it is my PC or
my USB cable or my camera. Frustrating

I have been hunting a farm in st clair co for the past 5 years and the deer hunting has been amazing.I am not saying we have giant deer hit the ground every
year but we do manage to take atleast one or two 8pts every year. This year has started out slow seeing plenty of does and a few 1 1/5 old bucks but in the past
week it has picked up the does have been moving all day and I have seen 2 big bucks that would go in the 130in range. One of the bucks is a 9pt that I had at
50yrds so I got a real good look at him.He is the one I want bc,He has corn stalks all wrapped in his rack he looks like he has a Indian head dress very cool
deer. Here is my problem going in and out of my stand I am jumping deer all over the place. And trust me I am going as slow as I can with no lights and not
making any noise.I still see deer when on stand but just don't want to spook the mature bucks. So do I get in earlier and out later or go out with a quiver
full of arrows and shoot as many does as we can.I am hunting in a staging area about 100yds in side the woods off a giant corn field and I really don't
want to move my stand just because this is the spot to kill one of these bucks.Or do I stay home for a week or two and go back in and see what happens or not
even go back in till nov 15th? Sorry for the long rant.

Sounds like you have a good spot. What time are you currently going out in the woods?

In the morning I am usually sitting by 6:15 -6:30 and sit all day.But If I just make it out for the evening hunt I am sitting by 3:30pm and jumping deer on the
way in.I think when I hunt this farm I will have to get in early and sit all day and don't come out untill well after dark and the deer have moved out into
the corn. What do you think?Or just let it settle down for a few days inbetween hunts.I would really like to hunt hard these next few weeks because of the rut
starting up.I have not been inthere senice last sunday But I don't think I am going back in there untill next weekend so that would make 2 weeks with no
pressure.

I have seen several does, I haven't seen the big buck roaming around, as soon as the wind dies down I will go out again.
I put out a trail camera on a good spot, I might check it tomorrow. |

I havent been seeing anything. I have 3 doe fawns that I see every day, but nothing else. When is this rut gunna happen? I am leavin for Florida on the 5th
coming back the 11th so I might miss the rut. I think everything has moved to the corn that is still standing, probably just staying right in there.
