The DNR has said for years that there are no big cats (Mountain Lions) in MI but this cat was hit by a car on M-65 south of Posen in the northern lower
penninsula, looks like a big cat to me. Has anybody out here heard of this? I wonder why it didn't make the news or if it did I missed it.

I have never heard of this myself. Why wouldn't this make the Woods and Water news Front Page or even the News!!Were did you get the pick? When was it
taken? I would like somemore info on it if you could post some more.Thanks..

I dont have any more info, thats why i was asking if anyone else had heard of this. i was sent the pic from a freind up north who was sent it by a freind from
Mt Clemens, so who knows?? he did say that the dnr was called out to finish the cat off because it wasn't dead and they had to shoot it. I am just
wondering if this is a real story or an internet rumor....... either way that is a nice big cat

I have seen this pic surface around the net for the last couple of months. If you look in the background you will see mule deer antlers. I bet this cat is from
out west. I know and believe there are cougars in Michigan but I would bet this is just another internet rumor.

forgot to add that I saw this pic a few weeks ago on an Alabama hunting site and someone said it was shot there....then a bunch of people argued that it was a
pic of someone out West. That's the internet

Heard of one sighting north of Harrisville 3 years ago. However, according to a taxidermist from the Alpena area, he has heard of several sightings in
different locations over the last 10 years. That is one big cat.....Also heard of big cat sightings in the Michigamee (sp?) area in the UP.

A good Friend of mine has seen a cougar several times in the Oscoda area along with other's in the area. This animal has been seen in the last several
months. I honestly believe it
