John...you like squirrel meat?
I have tried it a few different ways and just never got into it and am not a fan of eating them. It is fun however to go along and get a few for someone that likes the taste of them. I always used a .22 with a scope |

Normally I am out on the 1st but this year, I need to wait until the weekend. Good luck to all that make it out.

Troy9 wrote: I use a 22 mag ALWAYS.... Dont harldy ever touch a shotgun unless i am cleaning it... Its a real challenge in the early season when there is leaves all over the trees... Its really more difficult to slip around on a squirrel then a deer.. Really good practice.... And always a head shot.... Its pretty good for stews and stuff like that... Skin them and boil them til they are white and peel the meat off the bones and toss it in a pot with the other goodies or grind it up and fry a little to make chile and stuff.. Plus the wife likes squirrel tails for decorations... Mepps will buy them from you too... |
